Wildacres Writing Workshop Scholarships, 2011

Scholarship applications must be submitted (postmarked) by April 1, 2011.

Four scholarships are available for 2011:

1. Wildacres Experience Fiction Scholarship
   Funded by an alumnus who would like to remain anonymous. "I have attended workshops all over the country, including Hawaii, and Wildacres is the best. It's a great learning experience and an outstanding community of writers."
    
2. William J. Gill Memorial Scholarship for Creative Nonfiction
   Donated by a generous alum because "I would like to share this wonderful workshop week with someone who might not be able to attend otherwise."
    
3. The Wildacres Writers Scholarship in Poetry
   Gifted to celebrate all poets, writers and musicians whose spirits have been touched by the magic of Wildacres.
    
4. Katherine Osborne Fiction Scholarship
   Given to honor and in loving memory of Katherine Osborne, a fine writer who attended Wildacres for many years. Funded by alumni who knew and loved her.

You may only apply for one (1) scholarship.
 

Requirements for scholarships:

• Age: over 21; and  
• Not a previous Wildacres attendee.

To apply:

Scholarships 1 & 4 / Fiction
Submit 5 to 10 pages of prose, double spaced, with your name on all pages. It must be current, unpublished work. The top page must be the Scholarship Information Form discussed at the end of this section. Clip these documents together and mail them to: Judith Hill, 233 So. Elm St. Greensboro, NC  27401. Postmark by April 1, 2011.

Scholarship 2 / Nonfiction
Submit 5 to 10 pages of nonfiction (memoir, essay, or other nonfiction), double spaced, with your name on all pages. It must be current, unpublished work. The top page must be the Scholarship Information Form discussed at the end of this section. Clip these documents together and mail them to: Judith Hill, 233 So. Elm St. Greensboro, NC  27401. Postmark by April 1, 2011.

Scholarship 3 / Poetry 
Submit 6 poems with your name on each poem. Poems submitted for review may be of any style or nature, but must be current, unpublished work. The top page must be the Scholarship Information Form discussed at the end of this section. Clip these documents together and mail them to: Judith Hill, 233 So. Elm St. Greensboro, NC  27401. Postmark by April 1, 2011.
